If you’re looking for a playful, no-bake dessert that’s fun for all ages, this Dirt Cake is the one to try. With layers of creamy pudding and crushed cookies, it’s rich, nostalgic, and ridiculously easy to put together. It’s always a hit at parties and potlucks, and the gummy worm topping makes it especially fun for kids.

This is the kind of no-bake dessert that feels like a treat from your childhood but still wows adults too. Best of all, you can make it ahead of time, pop it in the fridge, and let it chill until you’re ready to dig in!
Perfect any time of the year, it’s an easy cake that’s perfect for family gatherings, potlucks, Halloween parties, and so much more.

Ingredients
- Oreo cookies – Finely chopped in food processor. Don’t use the bag of crumbs. You need the creme filling to help bind the crumbs.
- Cream cheese – Softened.
- Unsalted butter – Softened.
- Sugar
- Instant Vanilla pudding mix – Ensure that you’re using instant vanilla pudding mix, not the kind you have to cook.
- Milk – Any kind of milk works, but I think whole milk tastes best in this Dirt Cake recipe.
- Whipped topping – Thawed.
- Gummy worms

Directions
- Pulse the Oreo cookies in a food processor until you have fine crumbs. If you don’t have a food processor, seal the cookies in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
- Beat together the softened cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar in a large bowl until smooth and creamy.
- Whisk the pudding mix and cold milk together until thickened in a separate bowl for about 2 minutes.
- Fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture until well combined. Then gently fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated.
- Add a layer of crushed Oreos at the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish. Spoon and spread a layer of the pudding mixture over the cookies. Repeat the layers, finishing with a final layer of Oreo crumbs on top to resemble dirt.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the cake to set up. Just before serving, decorate with gummy worms or plastic flowers for a fun and festive finish.

Serving Suggestions
Dirt Cake is a fun and sweet way to end a meal, especially after casual dishes like BBQ chicken sliders, burgers, or grilled hotdogs. It’s also a great addition to birthday tables or summer cookouts.

Storage
Store leftover Dirt Cake covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. It’s best enjoyed within 24–48 hours for the freshest texture, as the cookies will continue to soften the longer it sits. This dessert doesn’t freeze well due to the whipped topping and pudding base.
